I am pleased to have worked with Pat Diehl Scace, horticulturist and exhibit designer at the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis on a new book. Principles of Floral Design: An Illustrated Guide is a comprehensive guide to the study of floristry.
It covers numerous topics including step-by-step segments on creating fresh floral designs for holidays, get well, weddings, sympathy events and many others. There are over 400 color images of flowers and foliage used in commercial floral design.
The book is geared toward high school and post-secondary learners with a multitude of in book and online exercises to increase comprehension. This is especially helpful for understanding abstract design principles and design language. It is fully laden with photos of designs, plant materials and mechanics.
It was fun working with Patty on this project. She is a well informed, caring professional with degrees in landscape architecture and horticulture. She possesses a vast knowledge of floral design and the plant kingdom. Our book is available through your favorite bookseller.
